For example: The Portland Trail Blazers traded Moses Malone to the Buffalo Braves for a 1978 1st round draft pick (Rick Robey).
Portland traded 0.0 past WS for 0.0 future WS.
Buffalo traded 0.0 past WS for 0.0 future WS.

This doesn't tell us much.
We can track down the links and find that Portland gave up 167 regular season WS and 14 playoff WS, to get a guy who would bring 16.5 total WS, for other teams.

With a few tweaks, this could be a valuable feature, and not just a Frivolity.

Not sure what's the relevance of stats "w/ previous team". It's the player's Future WS/etc that represent his value in the trade. And that is true whether the guy plays 1 game with his new team -- Rasheed for Atl in '04 -- or many years. I'd rather see his total career stats before and after a trade, but mostly just after.

The draft pick was sent to the Knicks as compensation for signing Riley, the Knicks accused the Heat of tampering with Riley since he was still under contract.

Kind of fun, especially with all the draft pick trades. eg:

February 24, 2005: The Boston Celtics traded Jiri Welsch to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a 2007 1st round draft pick (Rudy Fernandez).

August 6, 2004: Traded by the Los Angeles Lakers (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Rick Fox and Gary Payton to the Boston Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Jumaine Jones and Chris Mihm.

February 24, 2005: Traded by the Boston Celtics (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Tom Gugliotta, Gary Payton and Michael Stewart to the Atlanta Hawks for Antoine Walker.

August 19, 2005: Traded by the Atlanta Hawks (as a 2006 1st round draft pick) with Boris Diaw and a 2008 1st round draft pick (Robin Lopez) to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson.

June 28, 2006: Drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round (21st pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft.

June 28, 2006: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with Brian Grant to the Boston Celtics for a 2007 1st round draft pick (Rudy Fernandez).

Yeontura,

Odd place to put an off-topic question, but it made me really think. Shareef Abdur-Raheem, Steve Francis, and Corey Magette all would be close; they only appeared in 1 playoff series in their careers.

Troy Murphy has only played in one playoff game.
