Besides from an increase of scoring and slight increase of assists, Ellis' season isn't even as good as his 07-08 season. Even his PER dropped. Not to mention that his team record is horrible.

On the other hand, Gasol has been playing great, and he and Zach Randplph has formed a very strong front court.

Looking at the SPM numbers, is there any strong correlation between SPM and win shares? I've been trying to figure out how these two metrics are similar and also how they differ in how they value players outside of your LeBrons, Kobes, Wades, etc. of the league who are good at pretty much everything. I think some good examples from the above list to look at would be Amare Stoudamire and Steve Nasah: per 3000 minutes they have been solid by win shares, but their SPM are the lowest among all-star starters. Perhaps their defenses has been particularly suspect? It wouldn't be a surprise given that these guys are not known for being lock-down defenders by any means.
