I think he understands the game really well, he just overreacts to so many things presumably in the name of comedy.

Simmons is a fantastic comedic writer. He worked as a staff writer on the Jimmy Kimmell show before. I don't always agree with his opinions (like when he said Jared Dudley was the best player on Charlotte's roster a few years ago) but I'm always entertained by his wit.

It's hilarious to me how Bill claims that Nash is top 40 ever and Iverson is top 30 ever without any sort of rationale. I like the simple fact that he devotes so much time and attention to my favorite sport (and I'll probably read his book for that reason), but his judgment regarding players is highly suspect and extremely subjective.

I was reading that yesterday. It was a good read. What he wrote before this one about the status of refereeing in the NBA was interesting (and apt) as well.

I disagree. Simmons has jumped the shark several years ago. He isn't funny anymore.
