"The premise of these rankings is to rate NBA teams on their past accomplishments rather than their likelihood of winning in the future."

So Nodack is responding to the rating system as it was designed.
While Khandor's concern is with something else.

If the Magic and the Suns were scheduled to play a game today, in your opinion, which team would be the wagering favourite:

A. If the game was played in Phoenix?
B. If the game was played in Orlando?

IMO, Orlando would be the favourite in BOTH locations [i.e. larger at home; smaller on the road].

You can choose to have the Suns "ranked" higher at this time, if you wish.

I, on the other hand, believe their team to be a cut below where the Magic are today.

Yeah, why would you rank a team like Phoenix that high just because they have the best record in the league when we should really be basing the rankings on who is hurt sitting on the bench not playing.

Given the way their season started (Charlotte, Atlanta and Phoenix).

Good to see the OKC Young Boys Thunder rising in the standings!

Phoenix is a tad too high.
Atlanta is a tad too high.
Orlando is a tad too low ... given their injuries and absences.
Toronto is way too high ... as the worst defense in the league.
Charlotte is way too low ... with the addition of S-Jackson.

Keep your eye on Washington ... with the return of Mr. Jamison.

Most others seem to be just about right. :-)
