Layups: 7SoM on Dwight vs. Boston D

I love the breakdowns Gian Casimiro provides at Seven Seconds or Mess, and in the latest webisode, he takes a look at how the Celtics D has handled Dwight Howard so far this series. A lot of buzz has been about how few shots Dwight's been seeing, to the point that Howard himself even complained about his touches after Game 5. But 7SoM explains why Howard isn't an easy guy to get quality looks for:

Linked this at Third Quarter Collapse today, good stuff. My only comment is that, in my analysis at 3QC, the thing I want to see more of (I've been preaching this ad nauseam) in Game 7 is Dwight Howard moving around on offense - pick & rolls, etc. That's the best way to combat Perkins' strength, by using Howard's athleticism and speed to his advantage. There's no doubt Boston has done a good job of defending the PnR, but it's still more effective than posting up Dwight strictly on the low block.

I gotta admit having not seen a whole lot of this series that Im suprised Perkins can out muscle Dwight so easily. I thought Dwight was the Diesel reincarnated, superman part 2, at least strong enough to back Perkins down :-0

You do not see Dwight backing people down lots, EVER.
His advantage for his size is his Hops.
