The Detroit Pistons would love to forget the 2009-2010 season. Riddled with injuries to key players the entire season, their 27-55 record was their worst since 1993.
Unfortunatly they lost two players in their first pre-season game against the Heat. Jonas Jerebko, the surprise spark plug last season, tore his Achilles tendon and will likely miss the entire season. And second round draft pick Terrico White broke a bone in his foot that will set his development back.
What the Pistons do have is players at their positions to fall back on. The Pistons are stacked with SG’s and SF’s. With Ben Gordon, Rip Hamiltion, Rodney Stuckey, Tayshaun Prince, second year players Austin Daye and DaJuan Summer and the addition of Tracy McGrady, their depth is one of their biggest strengths.
What the Pistons don’t have is much down low. The anchor of the front court is 36 year old Ben Wallace, who surprised everyone with his rebirth after returning to Detroit last season. But the question is, can he do it again for another season? Charlie Villanueva, the undersized Jason Maxiell, with the addition of lottery pick Greg Monroe will need to have solid seasons for the Pistons to compete in the eastern conference.
With new ownership on the way and a retooling of the team, Detroit is trying to get back to their winning ways. This transition season might be a step towards their future, so if the team can finish the season at 500 or above you can consider it a success.

Illitch buy team. Move back to Detroit. Bring in Isiah for GM, Lambier coach...kick NBA a** for ten years. Deficit resolved, nuclear disarmerment...one year later...world peace...aloha.

nnnnnnnnnno. Isiah for GM? Have you seen what he does as management? His prowess as a point guard hasn't translated into management success! Keep Joe as GM, yes, bring Laimbeer in to coach and think twice about Illitch buying the team (he has clearly said in the past that basketball doesn't interest him...he just wants the Palace).
