And here's some additional trivia free of charge: I played my high school ball on the same team with #20's grandson.

  2. Bradlee Says:

Not bad, I got 21 out of 25 on the first try with out cheating. If I had more time I may have got the rest, except for #20. I have no clue who he was.

  3. Neil Paine Says:

He was actually considered better than George Mikan in college when they went head-to-head, but he chose not to play in the pros and remain an amateur to play in the Olympics. He won 2 gold medals, but Mikan is universally considered the game's first great big man, so who's to say what might have been had he gone to the NBL or BAA?

  4. Pageup1000 Says:

that was pretty easy except for kurland and gola

  5. Pageup1000 Says:

who do you think are the top 10 players who never went to college?

    moses
    garnett
    bryant
    kemp
    mcgrady

i'm out of names right now...

  6. Pageup1000 Says:

    oh yeah

    James
    Howard
    Smith

got them all in 1:27, but pretty easy with the schools and dates played. duncan and robinson have no business on this list. chris mullin was far better in college than either, for example. so were goodrich, griffith, steve alford, rick mount, marques johnson, and many others.
neither duncan nor robinson even made ONE final 4. robinson was a late bloomer and played against very low caliber, small Div. I competition.
not an OSU fan, but lucas should rate higher. played in the NCAA finals all 3 years players were eligible then, and teams were 78-6 in his career. bird, thompson and pistol pete were better than russell in college, far better. bill couldnt even shoot outside 5 feet.
    all-time 5 of non college pro stars: c-moses malone, f-kevin garnett, f-lebron james, g-kobe bryant, g-mcgrady, 6th man-dwight howard.
the list of busts who went from HS to pros is pretty long.
and i agree on the bob kurland points. had he played in the NBA, he and mikan would have been the first great center duel. a contemporary of mikan, he got a bit of the better between the 2.
